Abhijit Pohankar is a famous face of Indian Modern Music , a keyboardist, an instrumentalist , a singer , a music producer who is best known for playing classical ragas on keyboard and has created an unique fusion of modern music with classical music. Abhijit Pohankar was born to famous classical vocalist Pandit Ajay Pohankar in the year 29th June 1975. From childhood, music became an integral part of his life and with all his hard work he has established a new name in the music industry with his own classical genre.

Music Career

At early years , Abhijit had got training from Santoor Maestro Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma. In the year 2002 with the album ” PIYA BAWARI ” he came into lime light.
The album was a super duper hit and remained in the top three charts of MTV for several weeks.The album was a huge hit in the history of indian non filmy music.
Abhijit with his innovative ideas and with his hard work brought into LOUNGE MUSIC in India. He is a youngest artist from India to be featured in BUDDHA BAR of France.He along with his band Soundz of India and Urban Ragas he has started new world music.He has so far produced 20 music albums both nationally and internationally with most reputed labels like H.M.V , Times Music , Universal Worldwide , Freespirit Records.His works has been acclaimed by famous musical personalities of India.When it comes to live music , Abhijit with his flamboyant and brilliant music knowledge has collaborated with singing maestros like Ajay Pohankar , Ghulam Ali , Hariharan , Anup Jalota , Pankaj Udhas and has performed more than 2000 music concerts of Fusion Music and Indian Classical Music across Indian and abroad.He has performed in the famous prestigious venues like Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.
